In addition, Vancouver City Hall will be raising the World Diabetes Day Flag in honour of the United Nations designation of November 14th as an official UN World Health Day to recognize this international diabetes epidemic.

Taylor announced THE 1989 WORLD TOUR! Kicking off in Louisiana on May 20, 2015, the tour will hit North America and Europe before heading to Australia (playing BC Place, August 1, 2015).

Vance Joy, whose hit song “Riptide” was recently covered by Taylor, is supporting all North American dates and Shawn Mendes will also join the tour for select performances.

Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ took the top spot this week, selling a staggering 1.287 million copies in opening week. That figure marks the single largest sales week for one album since 2002, when Eminem’s The Eminem Show sold just over 1.3 million copies.

The singer’s fifth album instantly becomes the best-selling album to be released in 2014. Before this week, no album released this year had achieved platinum status. Also this marks a milestone for Taylor as she is the only artist to have three million+ debut weeks for an album.

Global superstars One Direction have added Canadian dates to the North American leg of the highly anticipated ON THE ROAD AGAIN 2015 stadium tour, which will see the band perform in Australia, Japan and South East Asia in support their new album FOUR (to be released Nov. 17). The North American tour, promoted by Live Nation, kicks off on July 9, 2015 at the Qualcomm stadium in San Diego, Cali. The full 22-city North American tour includes stops in East Rutherford, Vancouver, Toronto, Chicago, Boston, Detroit and Seattle, amongst others.
